Nur files case accusing DU BCL president, GS

Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) VP Nurul Haque Nur has filed a case against 37 Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) supporters at Shahbag police station in connection with Sunday’s attack on his supporters at Ducsu building. DU Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) unit president Sanjit Chandra Das has been listed as the number one accused and general secretary Saddam Hossain has been also charged in the case.

DUCSU social services secretary Akhtar Hossain filed the case on behalf of VP Nur on Tuesday afternoon with Shahbagh Police Station. Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasan confirmed the matter. He said Nur filed a lawsuit mentioning names of 37 accused. According to the case statement, the attack was led by Sanjit Chandra Das and Saddam Hussein.

Akhtar Hossain, who filed the case on behalf of the VP, said that Nur himself filed the case as the plaintiff. But, as he is undergoing treatment at hospital being injured by BCL goons, I have submitted the complaint to the police station on behalf of him. He also mentioned that an unidentified group of 40 to 50 other activists of the BCL and Muktijuddho Mancho directly participated in the attack.
