WZPDCL to plant 100 tree saplings to mark Mujib Barsho

State-owned West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) will plant 100 tree saplings in its Kustia office area to mark the Mujib Barsho, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman). Engineer Mohammad Shafique Uddin, Managing Director of WZPDCL, inaugurated the tree plantation program recently.

Mohammad Shafique Uddin said, “Bearing in mind the slogan of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation, for ensuing electricity in all households, we are working to provide power to remote areas. Remarkable success has been achieved in power sector during the last decade under this government.”

“More than 98 percent people are now getting electricity facility in our distribution area. Hopefully, we can bring entire distribution area under 100 percent electricity coverage by next June. Besides, we want to ensure uninterrupted electricity for the users,” he added.

Among others WZPDCL Superintending Engineer Md. Saifuzzaman, Arifur Rahman and Executive Engineer Pronab Kumar were also present in the occasion.

West Zone Power Distribution Co. Ltd. was constituted as an electricity distribution company in November 2002. The state-owned company is working for distribution of electricity in the western zone (Khulna Division, Barisal Division and Greater Faridpur) comprising 21 districts and 20 upazillas excluding REB area in the country.
