He said ,“A country has announced its visa policy. It's its own affair.”

Quoting the recently retired Chief Justice, Habibur Rahman said, “I have never been to that country and I have no desire to go. So, I have never seen anything to worry about”.

“I have not found any such concern among my colleagues after joining the DMP.  As an organisation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is always working for the people of Dhaka, for a safe city.  We don't care about it,” he added.

The DMP boss further said that police is determined to curb crime and ensure safety of the capital dwellers with professionalism and efficiency.

When asked about the personal crime of the policemen, he said if there is a complaint against any member of police, stern action will be taken against him.

“If any political party's members gather without prior permission, we shall take strict action without any hesitation,” he vowed.

"Law and order situation is our main concern, we wouldn't allow anything harmful to public security and safety centring the national polls,"  he continued.

"Election is a democratic process," he added.

The commissioner's comments come at a time when the BNP, the major opposition party, is set to announce a slew of fresh programmes.

He also said traffic congestion is not the problem of only the traffic police, other agencies are also involved here.

"We see gigantic infrastructures like metro rail and elevated expressway, but the roads have not increased, it's still only 78 square kilometres," he added.
