The Ministry of Shipping has announced a new water transport fares for all public water vessels to be effective from Friday. A notification was issued in this regard on Thursday.
As a result of the reduction in water transport fares, the per person fare has been reduced from Tk 3.00 to Tk 2.85 per kilometer for a distance up to 100 km and the per person fare has been reduced from Tk 2.60 to Tk 2.45 with a reduction of Tk 0.15 per kilometer for the first distance over 100 km. The minimum fare per person has been reduced from Tk 33 to Tk 30.
The rescheduling of water transport fares last month, the fare per person for a distance of up to 100 km is currently Tk 3.00 per km. For a distance of more than 100 km, the fare is Tk 2.60 per km. The minimum fare per person is Tk 33.
In 2021, the passenger fares for water transport was revised to Tk 2.30 per kilometer for a distance of up to 100 km. For distance more than 100 km the fare was Tk 2.00 per km. The minimum fare per person was Tk 25.
Earlier in 2013 and 2012 the passenger vessels fare was rescheduled.
