Upskilling to be in consistency with int’l standards: Tipu Munshi

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that the up skilling of any profession to be in consistency with the international standards. 

The  Minister stressed on the need of increasing the number of Chartered Accountants from current 2200 to 12000 which is the demand of the domestic market. 

Minister made the remarks in a view exchange meeting with a delegation of ICAB which paid a call on Minister at his office on Wednesday. 

The Minister also expressed his happiness during the talks to know the international acceptance of Bangladeshi CA certificate unlike other professions.

The ICAB delegation was led by  Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA, President-ICAB while the other members of the delegation were Vice Presidents- Md Abdul Kader Joaddar FCA and Maria Howlader FCA, Council member Md Moniruzzaman FCA and Chief Executive Officer, ICAB Shubhashish Bose. 

Mohammad Mashooqur Rahman Sikder, PS (Deputy Secretary) to Commerce Minister and Md. Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary of the same Ministry were also present in the meeting.

They exchanged views on different professional matters in a warm atmosphere.  The President-ICAB highlighted the needs of Institute i.e. allotment of RAJUK Land for Academic Campus and hostel for CA students, budget for ICAB Project on Capacity Building, Automation Process and other related issues for the development and flourishment of the Chartered Accountancy Profession.
