As part of its “U-Turn to Malaysia” campaign, the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) is strengthening its engagement with Bangladesh, reaffirming Malaysia’s position as a trusted and accessible healthcare destination for Bangladeshi patients.

The campaign is part of MHTC’s continued efforts to reconnect with Bangladeshi healthcare travellers and build stronger relationships across the healthcare, corporate and industry sectors, while bringing Malaysian healthcare expertise closer to patients across Bangladesh.

As part of its ongoing engagement, MHTC recently met with Honourable Sardar Shakhawat Hossain Bokul, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, to discuss opportunities to further strengthen healthcare collaboration between Malaysia and Bangladesh. The Honourable Minister expressed strong support for Malaysia as a healthcare destination and welcomed greater cooperation and engagement between the two countries’ healthcare sectors.

Building on this momentum, MHTC’s September programme brings together five leading Malaysian healthcare providers — Alpha IVF Specialist Center, IHH Healthcare Malaysia, KL Fertility and Gynecology Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, and KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital — offering Bangladeshi patients and healthcare professionals direct access to expertise across a range of medical specialties, including fertility, oncology, cardiology and other specialised areas.

Bangladesh remains an increasingly important market for Malaysia Healthcare, with Malaysian hospitals recording approximately RM10.4 million in healthcare travel revenue from more than 10,800 Bangladeshi healthcare travellers.

MHTC is also participating in the 13th Asian Tourism Fair (ATF) in Dhaka from 17–19 September, providing an opportunity for patients, industry stakeholders and the wider public to engage directly with Malaysian healthcare representatives and participating hospitals.

The nationwide outreach will continue beyond Dhaka, with MHTC bringing Malaysia Healthcare Week to Chattogram for the first time, further extending the “U-Turn to Malaysia” campaign and making Malaysia’s healthcare offerings more accessible to patients and healthcare stakeholders outside the capital.
