A murder case was lodged over the tragic death of Bangladesh Bank Assistant Director Dipanwita Biswas on Thursday.
However, police is yet to arrest anyone in this connection.
Ramana Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Utpal Barua confirmed the news.
The BB official was hit by a brick on her head from an under-construction building in the capital’s Siddheshwari area on Wednesday night. She died on the spot, police said quoting eyewitness.
Tarun Biswas, husband of the deceased lodged the case against unknown persons at Ramna Model police station on Thursday.
OC Utpal Barua said, “A building is being constructed near the spot. An investigation is underway to confirm where the brick fell from. CCTV footage has been collected.”
The incident took place near Fakhruddin restaurant when the official was on her way home from Bangladesh Bank’s Sadarghat office
at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday.
She suffered severe injuries when brick chips fell on her head from an unidentified building.
Locals rushed injured Dipanwita Biswas to the nearby Dr Sirajul Islam Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
She had a three-year-old daughter.
