A Traffic police was killed as a passenged bus hit him at Jatrabari area in the capital on early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Khairul, 30, sub-inspector of Traffic Police.
Deputy Commissiner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Traffic East) Muhammad Kamruzzaman confirmed the matter.
He said the bus knocked Khairul in front of Jatrabari Police Station around 2:00am while he was crossing the road, leaving him seriously injured.
He was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
