There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to reach Bangladesh it its desired destination. Today, the country has turned into a ‘Middle Income Country’ from ‘Least Developed Country’ under her leadership.
Poverty has halved in the last 12 years and today's Bangladesh is a dignified state in front of the world.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s birthday organised by the ‘Pragatishil Shangbadik Mancha’ at the Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Tuesday.
"Sheikh Hasina has been able to maintain the economic growth of Bangladesh even amid the pandemic period. There were a lot of uncertainties at the beginning of Corona pandemic. Experts and everyone was hopeless regarding Bangladesh. But, the government made an all-out effort to deal with coronavirus successfully.” he said.
He also said, “Sheikh Hasina and her government always stand beside the people. Not a single person in the country died of starvation. Despite many adversities in dealing with corona, the government has been able to curb it with vaccines, which has been praised around the world.”
“Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan in all fields, not only in the economy but also social, human development indices. Bangladesh has also surpassed India in social index, human development index,” he added.
Many veteran journalists and President of the National Press Club Farida Yasmin were present among others at the event.
