Tasnim Jara, senior joint member secretary of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and an aspiring candidate for the Dhaka-9 constituency, has announced that she will contest the upcoming election as an independent candidate, rather than representing any specific political party or alliance.
"I have decided not to participate in the election as a candidate of any particular party or alliance. I promised you and the people of this country that I would fight for you and for establishing a new political culture. No matter the circumstances, I am determined to uphold that promise," she said in a post on her official Facebook page on Saturday evening.
She further confirmed that she will contest the election from the Dhaka-9 constituency as an independent candidate.
