Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed condolence at the demise of former Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj. “She was a good friend of Bangladesh,” Hasina said in a message to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “During her stint as the external Affairs Minister of India, our bilateral relations reached a new dimension,” she said.
Hasina said she is deeply saddened at the sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj and extended her condolences to the bereaved family. “We pray to the Almighty to grant the members of her family the fortitude to bear the pain of this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” the Prime Minister said. She also wished for the personal well-being and happiness of the Indian Prime Minister and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of India.
