Some parts of the country including the capital experienced a significant amount of rain on Wednesday. Meteorologists believe that the ongoing rain may end today (Thursday) with a further drop in the temperature.

Weather experts expect that the temperature may drop significantly and increase the cold from the following days after the weekend.

The low temperature may continue in the coming days, they said. A strong cold wave may be experienced in different parts of the country including the northern region at the beginning of next week.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius again. The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Wednesday was 9.8 degrees Celsius. It was 10.4 degrees the day before.

The minimum temperature in Dhaka has risen from 16.6 degrees to 17.2 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist Abul Kalam told Bangladesh Post that there is a possibility that there may be no more rain after Wednesday. The temperature may gradually decrease.

“A cold wave is expected early next week. It may even occur earlier, however, in that case, it is likely to be mild,” he said.

According to the Meteorological Department forecasts on Wednesday, the weather across the country could be mainly dry with temporary partial cloudy skies.

However, there is a possibility of light rain or drizzle in one or two places of Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

There may be moderate to heavy fog in some parts of the northwestern part of the country and river basins from midnight till morning and light to moderate fog elsewhere in the country and it may continue in some places till noon.

During this time, the night temperature in the north-west of the country may decrease slightly and in other parts of the country, it may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
