The result of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will be published in the current month and process of intermediate first year admission will begin in the first week of June, sources said.

The education boards are working to publish the result just before or after Eid. After the publication of the results, the education boards are likely to start the online admission process from June 6.

“After the announcement of general holiday and ban on public transport, the chief examiners could not come to the board with OMR sheets. The work of publishing the result was stuck for this reason. However, after opening of the post offices, instructions were given to send OMR sheets by post office by May 10,” said Professor Ziaul Haque, president of the Inter-Education Board and Dhaka Education Board Chairman.

“The education boards have received about 90 percent of OMR sheets and scanning of these sheets is going on. The rest OMRs will come within a short time. We are working to publish the results by this month,” he said.

We will start the online admission process of intermediate first year as soon as the result of the SSC is released, he added.
According to the Education Board, like other years, there will be no formality in publishing the results this time. Students will not have the opportunity to go to the institution and know the result. Even the press conference that takes place in the Ministry of Education will not be held.

Students will know the result mainly through SMS and websites of education boards. Students will also have the opportunity to register via SMS before the resultis released.

Those who do this registration will get the results automatically after publishing the results on their mobile.
According to the source, the online admission process for class XI of the 2020-21 academic year is going to start from June 6. The first stage admission application will be accepted from June 6 to June 16. This admission process will continue till July 24.

Education boards have been planning to publish the result in education board’s websites as well as sending message to the guardians of students to avoid gathering, said an official of Dhaka Board.

“They have also collected the phone numbers of students from every school to send the results through SMS,” he added.
On the other hand, decision about holding Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will be taken after Eid-ul-Fitr.

“We are not sure when the coronavirus situation will be improved. Conducting the HSC examinations has now become a matter of concern. We have been thinking about how and what way the examination can be held,” Secondary and Higher education secretary Md Mahbub Hossain told Bangladesh Post.

The ministry will take the decision on HSC exam after Eid considering the coronavirus situation in the country by that time, he added.

Meanwhile, The HSC and equivalent examinations were scheduled to start from April 1. But this test was postponed due to Corona crisis.
