Operating special flights from Dhaka to Kuwait and Bahrain as well began from April 25 amid the ongoing lockdown.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) issued a notification in this regard on April 23rd.
Even though the airline operating on the routes can carry all passengers, special priority must be given to the migrant workers currently stuck in the country in a bid to help them reach their workplaces in these two destinations before their visas expire, said CAAB.
Now that the government has facilitated the movement of stranded migrant workers amid a ban, an inter-ministerial meeting had recommended that flights be resumed for Bangladeshi expatriates willing to return to Bahrain and Kuwait from April 25.
The state ministers for expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment, and civil aviation and tourism held the meeting on April 22.
Jazeera Airways will operate flights on Dhaka-Kuwait route.
