Singapore and Romania have shown interest to take manpower from Bangladesh, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Monday.
He said Singapore would take 10,000 while Romania would recruit 2,000 Bangladeshis soon.
Remittance is the mainstay of Bangladesh’s economy. But the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the sector. Many Bangladeshis have become jobless in different countries.
“These are new opportunities for us,” the foreign minister said about Singapore and Romania’s scope.
Romania wants to take Bangladeshis for the ‘Halal’ meat processing units. Romania exports 'Halal' meat to other countries. Bangladesh opened its mission in Romania recently.
