A travesty of democracy

A number of senior leaders of BNP are now staying in Singapore, which smells a  as they might be hatching a deep conspiracy against the government and Bangladesh as well ahead of the upcoming general election.

The BNP leaders are believed to have been staying there making a deep-rooted plot against the government which has achieved a significant economic progress by this time.

BNP leaders are getting directives from their high command exiled in London. People are scared as to BNP’s past nation-wide violent activities like hurling petrol bombs in which innocent people had been killed and injured and enormous pubic property had been damaged.

Tareque Zia, who has a close connection with Daud Ibrahim, a notorious Bombay blast mastermind, has become impatient and is serious in doing something worse than Holey Artisan type carnage  as their one point demand is not supported by any foreign countries that BNP takes as their mentors.

They are again allegedly hatching a deep-rooted conspiracy to create anarchy across the country to foil the upcoming parliamentary election expected to be held in December this year or the first week of the next year.

As part of the anti-state clique, the BNP leader, who never practises democracy, ordered to fly its bigwigs to Singapore in the name of treatment at the Singapore Mount Elizabeth Hospital. This is suspected to be a pretext only.

Referring to the issues, leading political observers hinted that the BNP leaders were holding series of virtual meetings with BNP’s exiled leadership. They are also holding secret meeting with some controversial foreigners in Singapore.

BNP insiders said three BNP leaders first attempted to convince the BNP acting chairman, who actually does not do any constructive politics like his mother, not to push the country to an uncertain direction.

But the attempt made the BNP supremo very angry and at one stage he reportedly used unutterable against the senior BNP leaders, who started their political careers with his father Ziaur Rahman.

The BNP leader in exile ordered to stop any peaceful political programs claiming that these type of  ‘Mahatma Gandhi –type’ anti-government activities will be useless to force the present  government resign.

Accusing the second-in- command of the BNP as secret government agent, the self-claimed  BNP supremo clearly ordered to chalk out a destructive plan.

He instructed the three BNP top leaders to start anarchy beginning from the last week of September.

However, the self exiled BNP leader conveyed his clear message to launch final massive anti-government ‘action’ just after the Election Commission announces the election schedule.

He elaborated his detailed plan, which include besieging sensitive government offices like Bangladesh secretariat, important installations to halt all the government daily activities.

He also planned to cut off all types communications, especially road and railways to disrupt food item supply in the capital Dhaka.

BNP insiders also disclosed that the BNP leadership will try to cut power in a bid to push countrymen in a worse situation.

Local units of BNP will be ordered to besiege local DC and SP offices in the final round of BNP’s anti-government actions.

BNP policymakers are thinking that if common people are forced to live under such a deadlock, they may take to the streets against the government.

Thus, BNP is hatching its conspiracy again to force the elected government and to realize their long cherished caretaker government, which is totally unconstitutional.

After BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, now BNP's standing committee member Mirza Abbas in Singapore.

Mirza Abbas left for Singapore on Saturday. He is accompanied by his wife Afroza Abbas.

Before Mirza Abbas, on 24 August BNP's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Singapore in the name of medical treatment along with wife Rahat Ara Begum.

BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain went to Singapore on June 27.

About several BNP leaders' recent visit to Singapore, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Intelligence agencies will enquire what they are doing there."

She however said she had no interest in a reported meeting between the leaders of the BNP and the Jatiya Party in Singapore.
