Simon Beach Resort wins highest VAT payer award

National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been awarding highest VAT paying companies every year to encourage VAT payment. In continuation of this, 129 companies have been nominated for the highest VAT payer award in the financial year 2020-21 at the VAT Day and VAT Week 2022 seminars and awards.

In a ceremony organized by the VAT Commissionerate Chittagong yesterday afternoon at the World Trade Center in Chittagong, the award was presented to Simon Beach Resort Managing Director Mahbub Rahman Ruhel by Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed and National Revenue Board Member Dr. Mainul Islam, Commissioner of Tax Appeal Region, Chittagong Ms. Safina Jahan. Syed Mushfiqur Rahman and other officials.

Chittagong Chamber President Mahbubul Alam, Chittagong Women Chamber President Monowara Hakim Ali were also present in the event. It is pertinent to mention that NBR has achieved the milestone of revenue collection of 3 lakh crore rupees even in the midst of Covid worldwide. VAT is the first source of revenue, followed by income tax.

Eastern Metal Industries Limited, Escorp Apparels Limited, M/s Jamuna Traders, Venus Resort and Coffee House won more honors in the event organized by Customs Excise VAT Commissionerate Chittagong. Mahbub Rahman, Managing Director of Simon Beach Resort, who paid the highest VAT while expressing his feelings among the honorees. Ruhel said, we are proud to receive the honor. He requested the National Board of Revenue to give more encouragement to everyone to pay taxes regularly.

  Some paid taxes and some did not, resulting in unequal competition. If Karjal is increased, it is possible to implement Vision 2041 announced by the Honorable Prime Minister.
