Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's gift of 2,600 kg of delicious mango was sent to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi through Benapole Port.
The mangoes were officially handed over to the Indian authorities in the Indo-Bangladesh no man’s land area by a Bangladeshi truck through Benapole port on Sunday afternoon.
After all customs and port formalities, mango consignments were sent to India in 260 cartons.
Deputy Commissioner of Benapole Customs House Anupam Chakma said that this mango is being sent as a memento of friendship between the two countries.
The first secretary (political) of Deputy High Commissioner of Kolkata in India Md. Samiul Quader received the Mango.
Benapole Municipality Mayor Ashraful Alam Liton, Sharsha Upazila Executive Officer Mir Alif Reza, Deputy Commissioner of Customs Anupam Chakma, Assistant Superintendent of Police Jewel Imran, Port Deputy Director Abdul Jalil and other officials were present there.
