Shamsur Rahman has been reappointed as chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC). Earlier on 19 September last year he joined as BPC chairman.
The ministry of public administration issued a notification in this regard. The appointment will come into effect from October 26 or from the day of joining, a BPC official said. Shamsur Rahman joined the 7th batch (1985) of BCS (Admin) in 1988 as Assistant Commissioner. Before joining as the BPC Chairman, he was an Additional Secretary at Public Security Division, Ministry of Home Affairs. As a career Civil Bureaucrat, Shamsur Rahman has served 28 years in Magistracy as well as Field Administration in different capacities including AC (Land), Upazilla Magistrate, Metropolitan Magistrate at Dhaka Metropolitan City, UNO at Nolcity, Jalokathi & Dagonbhuya, Feni, ADC & ADM at Pabna.
