DMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam on Thursday said, nobody will be allowed to enter the central Shaheed Minar without wearing mask considering the epidemic situation.
He made this remark while talking to the reporters in front of the central Shaheed Minar after inspecting the security measures taken by the DMP on the occasion of International Mother Language Day.
"We are going to celebrate the International Mother Language and Language Martyrs' Day in a special situation this year," the DMP commissioner said.
You have to enter the Shaheed Minar premises following the proper health rules. Five persons could enter the Shaheed Minar as the representative of an organization while two persons could enter at the same time individually , he added.
He said the same security measures have been taken on Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day like previous times.
The Shaheed Minar will be covered by three-tier of security. The whole Shaheed Minar premises will be brought under CCTV camera coverage.
Everybody must go through the archway into the Shaheed Minar premises. Besides, SWAT, Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad will be ready to deal with any situation, he continued.
Members of DB, Special Branch and RAB will be deployed in plain clothes.
Asked if there were any security threats around February 21, the commissioner said, "There are no security threats around February 21. We are on high alert."
Earlier, Dog Squad and Bomb Squad of DMP conducted a massive search to find out any explosive materials. According to the sources, this search will continue till the end of the celebration of the historic Language Martyrs Day.
