Salahuddin Sumon, one of Bangladesh’s most followed content creators, has embarked on a historic journey to Antarctica the coldest and harshest continent on Earth. Accompanied by fellow traveler Nilay Kumar Biswas, the expedition began from Ushuaia, Argentina, widely known as the southernmost city in the world.
As part of the journey, the team will also visit the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, a remote British Overseas Territory located far from Britain and close to Argentina. During the expedition, they will observe vast colonies of penguins, seals, seabirds, and experience rare flora and fauna found nowhere else on Earth.
Sumon and Biswas have joined this expedition with Oceanwide Expeditions, a renowned Dutch expedition company specializing in polar voyages. The expedition brings together participants from 21 different nationalities, making it a truly global adventure. Notably, this is considered one of the most expensive and challenging expeditions in the world.
Turkish Airlines has joined the journey as the title sponsor, partnering with Sumon as part of his role as a brand promoter. Additionally, Dot Internet, one of Bangladesh’s leading internet service providers, is supporting the expedition as a leading sponsor.
Throughout the journey, Sumon will be filming and documenting his experiences across the southern hemisphere, sharing exclusive content on his Facebook and YouTube channels. His goal is to bring Antarctica closer to Bangladeshi audiences in their own language something never done before by a Bangladeshi content creator.
