Romania keen to recruit workers from Bangladesh

Romania is interested in recruiting workers from Bangladesh, said Robert-Sorin Negoita, Mayor of Bucharest, the capital of the European country Romania.

The Bucharest (Third District) Mayor expressed this interest during a courtesy call on Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed on Tuesday.

The meeting was held at the office of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister. Secretary of the Ministry, Ahmed Munirush Salehin was also present during this time.

During the meeting, the mayor of Bucharest said that there is a huge demand for Bangladeshi workers in different sectors of the Romanian labor market and Romania is keen to take workers from Bangladesh. 

In response to this, Imran Ahmed said that skilled workers are being created through proper training and certification as per the demand of the international labor market. 

“The workers of Bangladesh are very hardworking. Our workers have contributed to the development activities of many countries of the world,” he said.

 They also discussed issues of mutual interest and cooperation between the two countries.

Deputy Mayor of Bucharest Police Victor Neagu, Director General of the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) Md Shahidul Alam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry Md Abdul Quader, Bucharest City Manager Marius-Daniel Ciobica and Romania-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce President Mohammad Rafiqul Islam were present during this time, among others.
