RFL, the country's leading business conglomerate, has started exporting PVC sanitary fittings to the United Kingdom (UK). The first consignment of sanitary fittings was sent to the UKfrom the factory of RFL Fittings, located at HabiganjIndustrial Park in Habiganj on Wednesday (January-10).
Debashish Sarkar, Head of Marketing of RFL Fittings said,“We have entered the European market by exporting the fittings in the UK. It’s a milestone for us. We have already been shipped 20 metric tons of fittings in our first consignmentfrom our factory and will ship several shipments in the next few months.”
He also added, “We are also getting good responses fromother countries. Soon, we will export our fittings in Oman. Therefore, our people are also working to send PVC fittings inthe USA”.
Md Jahangir Alam, Executive Director of RFL Plastics Limited said, "In the past, about 90 percent of the total pipesand fittings used in Bangladesh were imported from differentcountries including China, India and Malaysia. But now the situation has been changed a lot. Almost all the pipes and fittings used in the country are made by local producers. RFL is leading the sector. Our main goal now is to increase the country's export earnings through the export of large quantities of pipes and fittings”.
RFL Fittings has started its export journey through exporting in India. Currently, RFL Pipe and Fittings are now exporting its products to some countries including India, Nepal, Brunei, Samoa and Ghana.
