The Dutch–Bangladeshi communication and social innovation company, `RedOrange Communications’, has brought immense pride to the nation by securing the prestigious ‘Power of Family Planning Award’ on the international stage. The company received the accolade in recognition of its innovative work in family planning and driving social change.
The honour was conferred upon the company at the International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP 2025), recently held in Bogotá, Colombia. This exclusive award is presented only to organisations that demonstrate the ability to drive positive change across various social sectors through their reproductive health work.
This year, a total of 11 institutions from across the globe received this distinction, with RedOrange being the sole Bangladeshi organisation to be recognised.
The Key to Success: The 'Five for One' Model RedOrange earned this global recognition for its proprietary 'Five for One' model. This is a Strategic and Effective Communication model for Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC). The core philosophy of the model is simple: sustainable social transformation is achieved only when five key forces converge to work towards a common goal.

These five forces are: focused communication, active community engagement, necessary support for the health system, involving businesses and other institutions in the effort, and finally, developing new and effective solutions at a low cost. RedOrange’s model has successfully demonstrated that combining these five elements can indeed bring about lasting change in society.
The 'Power of Family Planning Award' recognises initiatives that seek to transform lives through innovative, low-cost solutions, celebrating those who drive positive change in health, equity, and social development. The award underscores the critical role family planning plays as a foundation for overall well-being, rights, and tolerance in a society.
Commenting on the achievement at ICFP 2025, Arnob Chakrabarty, Managing Director of RedOrange, said, "We are profoundly honoured to receive this recognition at ICFP 2025 and incredibly proud of our entire team. We have always believed that true change begins when we listen closely and with empathy to people's needs. This award proves that when we work together, the power of communication truly can change lives."
This international acknowledgment is set to propel RedOrange forward. The organization remains committed to utilising behavioural science, storytelling techniques, and novel methodologies to address complex development challenges in Bangladesh and other countries.
