Rain likely from today

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in the country again. It may rain in some parts of the country from Friday.

The temperature has started to increase across the country with the advent of spring. It was also forecasted that this trend of rising temperature may continue in the coming days.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department for the next 24 hours, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and some parts of Sylhet division, Comilla and Noakhali districts of Chattogram division, Rangpur, Khulna and Barisal divisions may experience rain accompanied by temporary gusts or thunderstorms.

The weather may remain dry with partly cloudy skies elsewhere in the country. Light to moderate fog is expected from late night to early morning across the country.

Night and day temperatures may rise slightly in all parts the country and the tendency of rain may decrease in the next two days, added the forecast.

On Thursday morning, the lowest temperature in the country was 11.9 degrees Celsius in Tentulia, up from 10.5 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The temperature in Dhaka rose from 17.4 to 18 degrees Celsius.     

Most of the western light pressure is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in West Bengal and adjoining areas.
