Habiganj Agro Limited and Chorka Textile Limited, sister concerns of country's leading business conglomerate PRAN-RFL Group, received ‘Green Factory Award-2025’.
Habiganj Agro received the award in agro-processing category, while Chorka Textile was recognized in the ready-made garments (knit) sector.
Brigadier General (R.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hussain, Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, handed over the awards through a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday. Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of industry, Housing and Public Works, and A H M Shafiquzzaman, Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Employment were present in the program.
At the program, Uzma Chowdhury, Director (Corporate Finance) at PRAN-RFL Group received the award for Habiganj Agro, while Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad, Executive Director, received the award for
Chorka Textile.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment confers the Green Factory Award to companies that adopt eco-friendly technologies, invest in sustainable industrial practices, and ensure a safe and decent working environment for skilled workers.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, Director (Marketing) at PRAN-RFL group said, “From the very beginning, we prioritized the environment in every stage—from the design of factory buildings and infrastructure to our production and marketing processes. We are truly delighted to receive this recognition.”
