PMO signs APAs with its seven agencies

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has signed the Annual Performance Agreements (APAs) with its seven agencies and departments for 2023-24 fiscal year in a bid to implement their respective result-based working plans with efficiency and accountability.

The APAs were inked at the PMO at a function on Thursday, said a press release.

PM’s Principal Secretary M Tofazzel Hossain Miah was present as the chief guest, while Principal Coordinator for SDG Affairs Md Akhter Hossain as the special guest in the APA signing ceremony presided over by PMO Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin.

The seven agencies are Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), National Skill Development Authority (NSDA), Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) and Ashrayan-2 Project

Mohammad Salahuddin on behalf of the PMO signed the APAs with the heads of the agencies and departments.

BIDA Executive Chairman Lokman Hossain Miah, BEZA Executive Chairman Shaikh Yusuf Harun, BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman,NSDA Executive Chairman Nasreen Afroz, PPPA Chief Executive Officer Md Mushfiqur Rahman, NGOAB Director General Sheikh Md Moniruzzaman and Project Director of Ashrayan-2 Abu Saleh Mohammed Ferdous Khan were present there.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary Tofazzel Hossain focused on the role of APA in increasing efficiency, transparency and accountability of government employees as well as institutional capacity.

He thanked the Governance Innovation Unit for playing an effective role in APA- related activities.

An APA is a result-based work plan to reach desired goals by increasing the efficiency and accountability of employees.
