Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Friday said that the government has ensured religious coexistence of all faiths for sustenance of the long tradition of communal harmony of the country.
"Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had brought independence of the country to ensure coexistence of people of all religions.
In continuation of that, the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the worthy daughter of Bangabandhu, has ensured coexistence of people of different religions and cultures by maintaining communal harmony," she said.
The Speaker said came up with the remarks at a view-exchanging meeting organized by Bangladesh Christian Association, Pirganj Upazila Branch at Pirganj Upazila Parishad Auditorium of Rangpur district as the chief guest.
She joined the view-exchanging meeting virtually.
Later, the Speaker also inaugurated the development work of 'Kadirabad- Tukuria via Gandharbpur' road.
