Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today said onion price has come down below Taka 100 per kg and the essential commodity will not remain an issue from the next month with appearance of more locally produced onion in local markets.
“We have taken ample steps to ensure adequate stock of the daily essential commodities during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan,” he said, adding that strict vigilance will also be ensured so that none could make any artificial crisis of those.
The Minister said this while answering to various questions asked by the local journalists at his Central Road residence here.
General Secretary of Rangpur District Motor Workers Union Md. Abdul Majid, former Jatiya Party leader Haji Abdul Latif Khan and Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Abdur Rashid, among others, were present.
