Thijs Woudstra, Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands Embassy, visited the activities related to the Special Revolving Grand Fund in the Karmasangsthan Bank Thakurgaon district.
Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) Thijs Woudstra and Senior Policy Advisor-Social Sector Mushfiqua Zaman Satiar visited Thakurgaon on 20 November for observing activities related to Special Revolving Grand Fund in Karmasangsthan Bank under UNCDF's WING program.
During this time, they exchanged views with the women entrepreneurs of this program and employees of Bank in Thakurgaon district.
Md. Moshiur Rahman, DGM of Loan and Advance Department of Karmasangsthan Bank, Md. Mukhleshur Rahman, DGM of Rajshahi Divisional Office were present during the inspection. This program is ongoing as a pilot project in 05 WING districts of the country namely Manikganj, Thakurgaon, Jessore, Cox's Bazar and Kurigram.
In addition to giving priority to women entrepreneurs, loans are being given with special consideration to physically challenged, third gender, ethnic minorities and people with special needs.
