Nestle Switzerland keen to support BSTI

Nestle Switzerland has expressed its keenness to provide technical supports to enhance the ability of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) for improving the quality of food products and developing the international quality of food testing facilities, reports BSS.

Nestle Vice President for Asia, Oceania and Africa regions Bernie Stefan today expressed the keenness while meeting with Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at the Nestle headquarters in Switzerland, said a press release here.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including modernization of Bangladeshi food industry and improvement of the quality of food.

Humayun said Bangladesh is moving forward to quality industrialization under the prudent policy and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Bangladesh is the best destination for investors. For attracting investors, the government is establishing 100 economic zones across the country,” he added.

He urged the Nestle to come forward to establish world class food industry in the economic zones.

Bernie Stefan said Nestle has 153-year experience in food industry and the product of Nestle is popular across the world as it has international standard research and development facilities.

He said Nestle is keen to work with Bangladesh for ensuring quality industrialization in Bangladesh.
