Navy celebrates Victory Day

With due dignity and enthusiasm, the Victory Day and the golden jubilee of independence and the swearing in of Mujib Year by the Prime Minister have been held in the ships and bases of the Navy on Thursday. On this day, special prayers were held in different mosques of the navy ships and bases for the forgiveness of the souls of the heroic martyrs who were martyred for the country in the great liberation war of 1971 and for the health of the war wounded freedom fighters and happiness and prosperity of the country. On the occasion of the day, selected warships of the Navy were kept open for public visits in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Chittagong, Khulna, Mongla and Barisal from 2 pm to sunset. A large number of curious people came to visit the navy ships. During this time, the Navy's well-equipped band played musical instruments for the public in the inspection area. Moreover, special documentaries made on the occasion of the day were displayed on the ships and bases of the navy.

In the afternoon, officers and sailors of all levels of the ships and bases of Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna naval areas participated in the swearing in ceremony of the golden jubilee of independence and Mujib Year conducted by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Besides, students of naval schools and colleges participated in the swearing in ceremony from their respective institutions. It may be mentioned that the National Implementation Committee organized the swearing-in ceremony to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on this auspicious occasion of Golden Jubilee and Mujib Year with the aim of inspiring all including the new generation in the ideals of Father of the Nation and the spirit of Great Liberation War.
