The national flag will be hoisted atop all government and non-government buildings on March 17, marking the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children's Day.
Cabinet Division issued a notification to this end on Wednesday.
According to the notification, all the government, semi-government, autonomous, and non-government institutions, educational institutions, and Bangladesh missions abroad have been asked to hoist the national flag to celebrate the birthday of Bangabandhu and National Children's Day on March 17.
Since 2009, the day has been celebrated throughout Bangladesh by engaging youth and creating awareness about children’s rights, on March 17. The day is being celebrated in Bangladesh as a tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who was born on this day in 1920 in Tungipara of Gopalganj.
