‘Nat’l Worm Control Week’ starts in Sunamganj

7 lakh children will get vaccine

National Worm Control Week was stated in Sunamganj district on Saturday morning. This year, a total of 6 lakh children in this district will get vaccine, officials said.

Sunamganj-4 MP Fazlur Rahman Misbah on Saturday morning inaugurated the programme at Shahar Balika Government Primary School in the town. 

During the programme, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Ashradul Haque, Sadar UNO Imran Shahriar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Soumitra Chakrabarti and others were present at the scene.

District officials said that a total of  5.90 lakh children from 12 upazilas of Sunamganj this year will get vaccinated with deworming tablets. Children from four 

municipalities will get the tablets, they said. 

The age limit of children is 5-16 years, district Civil Surgeon Office informed.
