Police recovered the body of a seven-year-old girl from an under-construction building at Wari area of the old part of Dhaka on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Sayma, daughter of Abdus Salam and student of Silverdale School.
The victim's father said he and his wife found the hanging body of Sayma on the eighth floor of the building which was empty, hours after she went missing. Abdus Salam is living in the same building with his family.
Being informed, police recovered the body.
Police suspect that Sayma might have been killed after rape.
Father of the victim filed a case on Saturday morning accusing some unknown people.
Md Samsuzzaman, assistant commissioner (Wari zone), said they, however, detained five people for interrogation.
