Millions of people in Hathazari, Raozan and Boalkhali upazilas of Chattogram have become marooned due to heavy rains.

Various union and municipal areas of these areas have been flooded.  Big trees are uprooted in different places. The power supply has to be stopped temporarily due to the collapse of the electric poles.  Most of the roads are submerged in water, and educational institutions are shut.

On the other hand, due to continuous rains, the railway line has been submerged in Fatehabad area.  Chattogram Nazirhat and University rail communication has been closed since morning. A demo train got stuck after leaving the city on Monday due to the sinking of the railway line to Fatehabad railway station.

Locals said that the railway line going to Chattogram University and Nazirhat is under knee-deep water.  Water is flowing over the railway line.  The demo train is stuck near Fatehabad railway station. Water has accumulated in various places of Fatehabad due to continuous rain.  Train movement was stopped in the morning due to water accumulation on the railway line.

The railway workers are making the road for water movement.  Hopefully the train will start running by noon.

Meanwhile, the suffering of the people of the area has increased in three districts.  Hathazari upazilas- Mandakini, East Farhadabad, Sekander Para, East Dhalai, Maijpara, East Enayetpur, Manohar Para, North Chadek Nagar, Gumanmardan Barua Para, Katakhali, Master Para, Rudrapur, Kazirkhil, Mohammadpur, Mirerekhil, Kadalbari, Mozaffarpur, Bhagirghona,  Rahimpur, Ichapur, East Mekhal, Bhabanipur, North Mardasha, Madaripol, Signboard, Khaliparghona, Bathua, Kuaish, Burishchar, Middle Madrasha Garduara, Loharpol, Shikarpur, Khandakia, Nangalmora, Kumarikul, Sikdarpara, Charia, Madhurghona, and Anand Bazar.

More than two lakh people in 40 villages in the areas of South Mekhal, East Fatehpur, Mehernega, Machuaghona etc. have become marooned.

Even though the water level has decreased from the upper part, since the Krishnakhali and Kuaish canals in Shikarpur and Burishchar areas of South Hathazari have not been renovated and dug for a long time, the rural roads and streets of these two unions and even the houses have been submerged in water.

Raozan Upazila- water is flowing in a strong current over the roads of Urkirchar, West Gujra, Noapara, Bagowan, Purgguzra, Binajuri Union of Rauzan Upazila.  Some roads are knee-deep in water.  In the neighbouring villages of Halda and Karnaphuli, people's houses, educational institutions and shops in the market have been submerged in knee-deep water.  Many people do not cook at home.  Domestic animals have to suffer in extreme cases.

Boalkhali upazila- the approach road, pontoon and bailey bridge of Kalurghat ferry are submerged in water, causing disruption of crossing.  However, at this time, the people got some relief as they got the opportunity to walk over the bridge.  As the water entered the upazila health complex in the morning, health workers including doctors and nurses had to suffer while providing medical services to the patients who came there for treatment.
