The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is receiving a huge response from sale of milk, eggs and meat on mobile small truck vans at affordable prices in the capital. At the same time, the demand for these products has also increased substantially.
Considering these issues, the Ministry has expanded the periphery of sales activities through such vehicles.
In addition to increasing the number of areas for sales activities, the supply of products in mobile vehicles has also increased.
The information was provided in a press release sent to the media on Wednesday.
The programme was initially launched in Abdul Gani Road adjacent to the Secretariat, Khamarbari, Japan Garden City, Mirpur 60 Feet Road, Azimpur Maternity Hospital, Nayabazar of Old Dhaka, Arambagh, Notun Bazar, Kalshi of Mirpur and Jatrabari area.
It has been expanded in Khilgaon, Lucas crossroads in Nakhalpara, Segunbagicha and Diabari in Uttara from Wednesday.
In addition to increasing the areas, the supply of milk, eggs and meat in each mobile vehicle has been increased.
On Wednesday, a total of 1,500 kg beef, 150 kg mutton, 500 kg dressed broiler, 3,000 liters of milk and 20,000 pieces of eggs were supplied for sale.
A total of 3,230 buyers purchased products from the truck van sales outlets.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has assigned a Deputy Secretary in each place to supervise and coordinate the mobile sales activities.
An office order in this regard on Tuesday also directed the concerned officials to submit daily reports. Besides, officials of the Department of Livestock Services are also supervising the activities.
It may be mentioned that this programme that started from 1st Ramadan in the capital will continue till 28th Ramadan.
Pasturized liquid milk is sold at Tk 60 per liter, beef at Tk 550 per kg, mutton at Tk 800 per kg, dressed broiler at Tk 200 per kg and eggs at Tk 30 per four pieces is being sold at the mobile sales centres.
