Mercantile Bank Limited launched 17 new ‘agent banking’ outlets across the country to provide basic banking services to the unbanked population of the country.
Bank’s Managing Director and CEO Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury inaugurated the outlets on Monday virtually as the chief guest, said a press release.
AMD Mati Ul Hasan joined the event as special guest while DMD Adil Raihan delivered the address of welcome. Among others, DMDs, senior executives and Agent banking division head Darpan Kanti Roy were present on the occasion.
Customer can enjoy basic banking services like opening accounts and deposit schemes, depositing or withdrawing cash, transferring fund and remittance through biometric authentication from the agent banking outlets.
Speaking on the occasion, Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury said utility bill payment, disbursement of salary of government and private organisations, merchant payment, and payment of fees of educational institutions be added to the MBL agent banking services soon.
He claimed that fast progress of MBL agent banking will ensure the higher client services and satisfaction.
