Bangladesh Industrial Gas Limited (BIGL), an industrial unit of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), in Tangail industrial city, is producing medical oxygen used for emergency treatment, report BSS.
“The company is producing oxygen as per the direction of the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) to provide oxygen in urgent need to treat patients suffering from coronavirus,” said an Industries Ministry press release issued on Sunday. The company is now producing 700 cubic feet of oxygen daily. From the existing reserve of oxygen, Bangladesh Industrial Gases Limited is able to supply about 3,000 cubic feet of oxygen daily through 500 to 700 cylinders.
In addition to oxygen, Bangladesh Industrial Gas Limited produces nitrous oxide and acetylene for industrial use. The annual production capacity of the company is 1.40 crore cubic meters.
