Market fire again

Is it a sabotage?

Published : 15 Apr 2023 10:39 PM

Repeated fire incidents in market places in the capital city of Dhaka have created concern among people. As one after another fire incident is taking place, people have started raising the question whether these incidents are acts of sabotage to destabilize businesses ahead of the Eid. Some people are raising brows if the country is heading for another arson-attack situation by anti-liberation forces just eight months ahead of the next general elections?

Judging from the past, people now think whether there was any sabotage behind the recent series of fire incidents.

Mystery shrouds the repeated fire incidents and some elements are trying to politicise the fire incidents.

When there was sizzling sale in clothing markets ahead of the

Holy Eid-ul-Fitr and Bangla New year, the repeated fire incidents made the traders helpless and their employees penniless.

Therefore, the frequent fire incidents have already dealt a serious blow to the businesses.

The people are still in nightmare of horror of terror activities by the anti-liberation forces.

Since August 15 in 1975, the nation witnessed heinous killings and the most brutal assassination in its history.

The killing of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members on the fateful night of August 15, 1975 is the ugliest chapter of the nation’s history.

The vested quarter, who assassinated Bangabandhu in 1975, also tried to destroy Awami League (AL) by killing its president Sheikh Hasina with grenade attack unleashed on an anti-terrorism rally at Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21 in 2004.

Besides, country’s people have not forgotten the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-Jamaat-e-Islami clique’s arson atrocities across Bangladesh in 2013 and 2014 yet.

In the nationwide violence including arson and petrol bomb attacks carried out by the BNP-Jamaat clique from 2014 to 2015 in the name of so-called movement killed about 500 innocent people and injured over 3600 others.

The BNP-Jamaat goons burned sleeping people to death within moments.

The BNP-Jamaat goons killed people while they were travelling by roads and highways during that time.

People, who also suffered severe burn injuries in the petrol bomb attack, could not sleep whole night as they still                                                                                                                                                               hear screams of their relatives and other passengers and see the buses torched to ashes.'

Besides, the party’s violent activities during its rule or in opposition between 2001 and 2015 created panic among the people.

Being benefitted politically, the anti-liberation forces are always hatching conspiracies capitalising on any issue both at home and abroad.

The anti-liberation forces under the umbrella of BNP is the main obstacle to peace, progress and the development of the constitutional form of government.

People have been seeing BNP-Jamaat clique has been hatching conspiracy in many ways since long.

It was the BNP, which was responsible for creating the anarchic situation in the country that led to the declaration of emergency in January 11, 2007, popularly known as 1/11 changeover, has been criticised widely at home and abroad for its role in the country’s political arena.

This type of politics produces nothing but total destruction and devastation.

The victims of firebomb and arson attacks want punishment and trial of the BNP-Jamaat alliance.

Many are still suffering from the pain and demanding immediate action against the culprits involved in the attack.

They are also passing their days in panic as they fear the BNP-Jamaat alliance is currently heading towards anarchy in the name of movement.

Countrymen know BNP’s good governance meant strangling freedom of expression, holding voter-less elections, snatching people’s voting rights, killing of people for electricity and fertiliser, money laundering and torturing minority community.

The party is visible enemy of democracy and flag- bearer of communal politics and instigator, patron of anti-liberation forces and instigator of radicalism.

The party’s senior leaders are now desperate to make the country a failed state and its people confused.
