The birth centenary of the pioneers of the insurance industry, Muhammad Azizus Samad, the founder of
Bangladesh General Insurance Company Ltd. (BGIC) was celebrated at the Dhaka Ladies Club recently.
The occasion was chaired by Towhid Samad Chairman of BGIC. Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury, Chief
Executive Officer, delivered a welcome speech. Among others, Mustafa Zaman Abbasi, Independent
Director, Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Financial Consultant, Faisal Samad, Managing Director of Savar
Textile, Imran Rauf and Nur-E-Zaman Albani A.M.D. and M.A Aziz, D.M.D of BGIC.
The speakers remembering of the M. A. Samad’s life work and his significant contribution to the
Insurance Industry. He was the shining star of the insurance sector. Long life M. A. Samad played a great
role in the literature, culture and social activities of the country. He was successful personality in both life
insurance and general insurance sector.
