Bangladesh registered no death from Covid-19 in 24hrs till 8am Saturday. The country experienced no death in a 24-hour update for the third time in last four days. The total number of deaths is 29,114 with the latest figure of Saturday.
A total of 62 people were newly infected during the time. This is the lowest number of daily infections reported in the last 2 years, since April 8, 2020. The total number of infected people reached to 1,950,527, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
The current positivity rate dropped to 0.83 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.23 percent.
Experts believe that the relentless vaccination campaigns conducted at regular intervals played a vital role in bringing down the impact of the deadly virus.
They believe that the country has reached a systematic result due to the efforts from the government and others in tackling the deadly virus. Many factors played a significant role in reaching the current state where none has died from the virus for three out of four days in the country and the infection rate and numbers of daily new infections are at its lowest in two years.
As per health officials, Covid-19 patients have started to reduce significantly in hospitals as many are not physically harmed enough by the virus and are testing negative themselves after remaining quarantined at home for several days.
Earlier on Friday, two people died from the virus and 108 people contracted the virus.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
A total of 7,667 samples were tested across the country till 8am Saturday.
Some 1,014 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,869,634 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 95.85 percent.
As of Saturday, 6,095,064 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 468,615,353 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
