Latest technology helps growth of country’s apparel sector

Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastgir said that the quality of apparel sector has increased due to the arrival of new machines and technical systems in the country’s garment industry. 

The minister as the chief guest said this at the second foundation anniversary and institute inauguration of Bangladesh Apparel General Managers Association (BAGMA) held at Jamuna Future Park’s Nabab Hall in the capital on Monday. 

Jute and textile minister has also said, “Our country has reached such a global position in textiles branding that now we are moving forward at an indomitable pace. Our entrepreneurs are investing in the garment industry with dreams, but many are apprehensive about the current tax structure.”  

BKMEA Executive President Mohammad Hatem in this situation has urged to consider about how to make it more business friendly so that entrepreneurs invest more in this sector. 

Meanwhile, the leaders of the sector said that in order to build the fourth industrial market and smart Bangladesh, the country’s manpower should be used rather depending on foreign people.

Highlighting the country’s economy has turned around despite the pandemic crisis, exports are also continuing, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association president Farooq Hasan said, “We are currently branding this industry to the world in such a way that our next generation will enjoy its benefits.”

Meanwhile, the founder chairman and general secretary of BAGMA A Parvez Labu said, “If we want to build an industrial and smart Bangladesh, we need to use the country’s manpower rather foreign manpower, and also build skilled manpower. And we are working towards that goal.”

Later, after the discussion, the minister announced the inauguration of BAGMA Institute and assured the institute’s registration and overall cooperation.
