The Ministry of Land has taken an initiative to make the service process easier to provide more efficient and transparent land services to the common people. This initiative will further increase the accountability of the land offices in providing people-friendly land services.

A workshop titled ‘Identification of Land Services through Land Management Automation Project’ was held for this purpose on Saturday. 70 officials in 10 teams, virtually joined the workshop from the Land Ministry conference hall and offices of departments and agencies under the Ministry of Land and Habiganj, Sherpur, Noakhali collectorates (DC Office).

The event was moderated by Land Management Domain Specialist of Land Management Automation Project and former Chief Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad. Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman PAA presided over the event. Former Secretary Md. Faruk Hossain and Project Director of Land Management Automation Project Muzaffar Ahmed were also present during this time.

An effective information system will be developed for the land service automation system to ease the process of land service. A functional and complete land service list based on clusters and groups is being prepared by canceling duplicate and unnecessarily separate listed services and by including necessary new services while reviewing more than 200 different types of land services.

The workshop started with an open discussion and question-answer session with the officials of the 10 participating teams. The land secretary, land management (domain) expert, and procurement specialist expressed their views thereafter.

The recommendations of the participating teams were discussed in the workshop. A cluster and class-based land service list will be prepared later based on these recommendations.

Land Reforms Board members Begum Zahida Khanam and Md. Zainal Abedin, Land Appeal Board member Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, Director General of Land Records and Survey Department Md. Moyazzem Hossain, Land Ministry Additional Secretary Pradip Kumar Das, Land Ministry Joint Secretary Md.
