A high-level delegation from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) visited Chattogram Port on Thursday.
Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by Member (Harbour and Marine) Commodore Ahmed Amin Abdullah. Later, they held a courtesy meeting with him. During the meeting, he briefed the delegation on the notable achievements, development activities, and capacity enhancement of Chattogram Port.
KOTRA representatives expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and South Korea. They highlighted Korean investment interest and potential in various port infrastructure sectors, including the Bay Terminal and the Matarbari Port Development Project.
The delegation also included representatives from Total Soft Bank Ltd (TSB) and CIIZ. These organizations expressed interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as port technology and maritime research, yard management, smart port solutions, port digitalization, maritime education infrastructure development, blue economy, and marine science.
The meeting was attended by KOTRA Deputy Director Sunghoon Lee, Chief Specialist Faruk Ahmed, CIIZ Engineer Younjae Ham, and Sales Senior Manager of Total Soft Bank Ltd John Jeong, along with senior officials of the Chattogram Port Authority.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the operational area of Chattogram Port and highly praised its modern management system and operational activities.
