A meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has recommended increasing the number of Muktijoddha Padak.
The recommendation was made at a meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday with committee chairman Shahjahan Khan in the chair, said a press release.
The meeting discussed the progress of implementation of 'Muktijoddha Padak Policy, 2021', development activities of Rajdhani Super Market and the decision over selling the unnecessary and unused land of Muktijoddha Welfare Trust.
The meeting also recommended raising the number of medals allotted toeligible individuals, organizations and institutions as per the Freedom Fighters Medal Policy, 2021, added the release.
Committee members AKM Mozammel Haque, Minister for Liberation War Affairs, Razi Uddin Ahmed, Major (Retd) Rafiqul Islam, Bir Uttam, AB Tajul Islam, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Waresat Hossain Belal attended the meeting.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Director General of the National Freedom Fighters Council, heads of various agencies and officials of the Ministry and Parliament Secretariat were present.
