Main opposition in the Jatiya Sandsad (JS) Jatiya Party will participate in the next 12th JS polls alone and nominate 300 candidates in all the 300 seats across the country.

Party’s secretary general Mujibul Haque Chunnu came up with the disclosure on Wednesday by making party’s position clear regarding the participation in the JS polls.

“Jatiya Party will contest in all the 300 seats alone for the 12th JS polls as the party will not participate the JS polls in any alliance”, Chunnu told it while talking to media on Wednesday at the party’s central office in the capital’s Banani.

He said, "The Jatiya Party believes that change of power is not possible without elections. There is something to be said about every election held in the last 33 years. Even those who won the election under the caretaker government said the election was fair. And those who could not come to power said the election was not fair. It is not possible to make the election 100% fair in the current election system."
