Infiltrators in AL, admin unmasking their faces

Published : 19 Aug 2023 10:24 PM

With only four and a half months left for the 12th parliamentary elections in the country, some infiltrators have already started unmasking their real  faces to put the government and Awami League in trouble ahead of the election.

Party sources said  more than 60 leaders and workers have been temporarily expelled from Bangladesh  Chhatra League only  on Wednesday and Thursday for expressing condolence over the death of Jamaat leader Delawar Hossain Sayedee who had committed crimes against humanity during the 1971 liberation war .

On October 10 in 2019, Bangladesh Post had carried an exclusive report titled ‘Shibir infiltration in Bangladesh Chhatra League’ to warn the ruling party policymakers. Quoting intelligence sources, the report said that Shibir started to infiltrate the BCL, the glorious student organization of the ruling Awami League.

After getting vital posts in various units of the BCL, they later targeted to catch government jobs.  Infiltration is still continuing as no organizational action has been taken against these infiltrators till now.

According to a recent intelligence report, a significant part of anti-liberation forces have allegedly infiltrated the ruling Awami League and administration in the last 14 and a half years with various strategies.

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has repeatedly warned about the infiltration. However, no effective action was taken against them.

The BCL central committee accused them of involvement in various activities against the ideology of the organization. Apart from the party, the Police Headquarters and other government administrations have also punished many government employees for their alleged link with anti-liberation groups. Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Inspector Khairul Islam was  transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBN)’s  hill district as punishment.

He also publicly gave a post condoling the death of the top brass war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee.

On Thursday, Pabna Chatmohar upazila secondary education office’s academic supervisor Golam Mustafa was relieved  from his duty.

A few months ago, two government officials, including an official of Bangladesh Bank, were arrested from a secret meeting of Jamaat-Shibir in the capital's Mirpur.

According to political analysts, the main challenge for the ruling party in the coming parliamentary elections could be those who infiltrated the party, and the administration, rather than the visible and declared opponents in the field of internal politics.

These anti-liberation elements have entered various level committees of Awami League and its affiliate organizations giving bribes to some leaders. They have also bagged important posts of district and upazila committees of the ruling party and its front organizations. They have targeted the upcoming national elections. They have now become active to put the government and Awami League in trouble during  the upcoming  elections.

After entering the positions of various committees giving bribes, they gradually took control of the local politics of the party. They later established absolute supremacy  in all business and trades including the tenders of various government departments. They became the owners of huge wealth overnight. Due to the combined influence of party positions and abundant money, even the local administration is now under their direct and indirect control.

The party's real and long-suffering leaders and activists have become helpless in front of their influence and power.

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina repeatedly instructed party leaders and workers to be careful about infiltrators in the party. She  several times said that all the misdeeds are being done by these intruders.

Shahriar Kabir, president of Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee, recently said, "Anti-liberation forces including Jamaat-Shibir are sitting in the corners of the administration.”
