The 11th founding anniversary of Industrial Police, a specialized unit of Bangladesh Police, has been observed at its Ashulia Industrial Police office, at Sreepur area in Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Saturday.
Dr Benazir Ahmed, Inspector General of Bangladesh Police presided over the program, while Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Minister of Home Affairs Ministry participated the program as chief guest, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, minister of Industries Ministry, as special guest, Dr. Enamur Rahman, State Minister for the disaster management and relief, participated as special guest, Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Senior Secretary of Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, as special guest, Faruk Hasan, President of BGMEA, as a special guest, Mohammad Hatem, executive president of BKMEA, as a special guest along other industry owners, workers, and several rights organization leaders and activists participated.
In his speech, Dr Benazir Ahmed, urged the government to increase manpower of industrial police unit to more strengthen the unit, as our country rapidly developing in industry sector, he said.

As our country’s industry sector growing up, so we need more manpower in this unit to tackle any kinds of unrest or untoward incidents.
He further said, many times some vested quarter tried to make unrest in this industry sector, but they failed as Industrial police always aware, and they able to build a smooth communication between Industry owners and workers, as well as workers leader. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, the home minister, said our prime minister always want to develop all sectors, so we are hoping that industrial police unit will get more members if they needed.
He further thanked and appreciated all of industrial police members as well as country’s law enforcers for their hard work in country’s law and order situation in control.
Later, a colorful cultural program was also held at its premises at evening to marking the funding anniversary.
