In-person classes at pre-primary schools will resume from March 15, after remaining closed for almost two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Zakir Hossain on Wednesday at the conference room of the Secretariat.

According to the decision of the meeting, classes will be held initially two days a week (Sunday and Tuesday).

Secretary of the Ministry Aminul Islam Khan, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam and Additional Secretary Ruhul Amin were present at the meeting.

It may be mentioned that classes in pre-primary schools were stopped due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

Although all the educational institutions were opened on a limited scale on September 12 last year due to the reduction in corona infection, the government decided to keep pre-primary schools closed. However, classes were being taken online at the pre-primary level.

Due to the increase in Covid-19 infection, the educational institutions were closed again on January 21 this year. As the infections have decreased again, in-person classes in primary schools of the country resumed on March 2 following the hygiene rules.

Finally, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education decided to bring the pre-primary students back to the class.
